CCR #4

  • Started out with a basic slight understanding of the general making of a magazine
  • Over the course of the year learned and developed color schemes through magazines and their influence.
  • Having a solid understanding of Photoshop before hand, i was able to use it create a cover photo and a table of contents using tools like the clone stamp, contrast, hue, and saturation to give my photographs that pop and shine and give off a perfect balance of hot and cold and almost make some basic cars look intimidating. This was used to make an overall great look that would make readers want to pick the cover up off the racks of the article stands.
  • Another software we ended up using was Apple Pages, which ended up great in terms of putting the articles together overall. We used Apple pages to put all of our articles together to help create this astounding look as well as its easy ability to make your Magazine look professional while using basic and simple tools available to anyone.
  • Hardware we went from our phones to cameras to take professional photographs for our magazine
  • online we combined the efforts of journalism and other car magazines to see how they developed their tables of contents
  • The text we had used was Racer text since it seemed fitted to the magazines
  • Overall we went from some understanding of pictures to fully understanding all of the factors that come together when creating a magazine. The Racer text gave me this feeling of flow  due to seeing how well the name goes with the car magazine idea. It allowed us to integrate the perfect text into our articles.
  • We used online examples of articles to see how they had placed all of the elements including the bar code, how to get a design idea for our table of contents, as well as text placement all over the cover of our car magazine.
  • For Hardware we had used a Cannon Rebel xTi for our photographs. Even though it was a dated camera, it allowed us to set the perfect aperature, f/stop, and color setting more to capture the pictures at the perfect time of day. The hardware was a fairly crucial factor to the building of Drive-By and establishing the uttermost developed and perfect cover photographs as well as other pictures of the rest of the articles.
