Started out with a basic slight understanding of the general making of a magazine Over the course of the year learned and developed color schemes through magazines and their influence. Having a solid understanding of Photoshop before hand, i was able to use it create a cover photo and a table of contents using tools like the clone stamp, contrast, hue, and saturation to give my photographs that pop and shine and give off a perfect balance of hot and cold and almost make some basic cars look intimidating. This was used to make an overall great look that would make readers want to pick the cover up off the racks of the article stands. Another software we ended up using was Apple Pages, which ended up great in terms of putting the articles together overall. We used Apple pages to put all of our articles together to help create this astounding look as well as its easy ability to make your Magazine look professional while using basic and simple tools available to anyone. Hardware we we...

Our creativity has improved greatly throughout this magazine project. We learned to add more visuals to our blog post to improve the understanding of the content.  We used Photoshop throughout this whole project, this program helped us edit and improve the quality of our pictures.  Every photograph was improved with Photoshop by increasing light, balance, as well as the hue to create the perfect balance between hot and cold, yet giving a fierce look to every image, to intimidate the reader and make average cars look not so average. We also used Photoshop to create the title of our magazine, using their "racer" font.  Our group had an advantage since our group member Aaron is certified on Photoshop and taught us the basic of editing pictures. We changed our font styles and designs in order to have a color scheme. We also used Apple Pages to help create and design our overall magazine issues, as well as to help establish pages, setting off all elements, font, and col...

It also has the typical Mast head spelling out the name of the magazine "Dive-By" in the photoshop font racer. The cover image lets the reader know what the magazine is about. The Main Feature story is displayed o the cover with big bold letters, there are other feature stories display on the cover but in smaller letters. Marketing Plan

Image
Based on our target audience research and research of similar magazine`s marketing techniques, our magazine, Drive-By, would likely market our product in three different ways. They would be billboards, social media pages, bus stop signs and other advertise-able space. These advertisements would include a simple preview of the magazine by featuring things such as nice cars and beautiful backgrounds such as a tropical location or a snowy mountain. On the advertisement, there would also be the name of our magazine, Drive-By, and a tag to our social media page/other social media pages in order to provide the viewer with the information of where to find the magazine. We use marketing visuals that align with the theme and subject of our magazine. For example, there is an action shot on our billboard of a Lamborghini driving by. We also use things such as a racer front and a clean black/red/blue color scheme.

Feedback From Class and Revisions

After presenting our magazine to our class, Mr. Elsbree our Media studies teacher, ask our classmates to give some constructive criticism, about each of my groups members magazines. The comments were mostly positive with only a few minor details that need to be changed. One of my group's main issue was that our table of contents format and fonts were not similar to each other, Our solution to this problem is keeping my format and Max and Aaron and going to change theirs. Another issue is the cover of my magazine, even though many of my classmates liked the picture and fonts more text features need to be added in order to fulfill the empty spaces, my solution to this problem is going to adding the title of more articles to advertised the magazine more.

Scouting Locations

Image
The Location we chose for our shoot was the pier on Siesta Key beach Florida. The reason we chose this scenery was because the Siesta Key pier which is on Siesta Key beach, a barrier island on the Gulf Coast west of Sarasota, was named best beach in the U.S. in 2011 on the annual Dr. Beach list, and was also named tops on TripAdvisor's rankings in 2015.  Making a great place to do a photoshoot. The reason i ended up chosing a long shot of the three cars as my cover pictures, was due to the space  left on top and botton, from the begging i knew i wanted to incorporate the title and subtitles of the magazine into the cover picture.
